The MSP Regional Indicators Dashboard is designed to help public, private and civic leaders answer the question: how is our economy performing? It tracks the region’s change on critical economic, social and environmental metrics and benchmarks the region against the largest 50 U.S. metro areas to build understanding about what matters most for long-term prosperity.
Values and ranks trending in positive directions are green; in negative directions are red, and with no change are blue.
Change in value between current year and previous year.
Identifies percentage-point differences between years.
Indicates MSP’s rank against the 50 largest U.S. metro areas, where 1st is best.
The Minneapolis-St. Paul region’s rank among the top-50 U.S. metro areas in each Dashboard category, with all indicator ranks weighted equally.
Data for the 2026 MSP Regional Indicators Dashboard was collected between February and June 2026. All datapoints in the Dashboard reflect the most current data available at the time; often, this means measures reflect data from 2025 or 2024.
